Streamer 23 Signature

(Available from Q4, 2024)

An innovative, new network streamer that fills the gap between standalone streamers and audio PCs, combining the advantages of both. The key feature of the network streamer – which uses a Raspberry Pi microcomputer – is that it works with any operating system that runs on Raspberry, therefore you can always choose your preferred software. With the external SD card or SSD drive slot, the operating system is easily changeable, without the need to disassemble the unit. Still, it is important to note that software installation is not required, since three SD cards or SSD drives are provided with pre-installed operating systems, namely Volumio, Audirvana and Roon Bridge.
Volumio and Audirvana provide standalone streamer functionality and Roon Bridge provides Roon endpoint functionality, so the device could be used in Roon infrastructure as a renderer. All three pre-installed systems work properly with the audio output and internal screen of the device.
Additionally, the streamer can be used with any other operating system like Moode, PiCorePlayer, AudioLinux and even HQPlayer.
This flexibility in choosing the operating software ensures longevity – if the support ends for any previously installed software, you could easily switch to another.
This freedom, however, also means that the device does not come with any paid licenses, and customers need to subscribe to services in order to gain full functionality. The device supports the following services:

- direct Qobuz streaming
- direct Tidal streaming
- direct Tidal streaming controlled by Tidal connect
- direct Spotify streaming
- direct Youtube streaming, Youtube Cast
- direct Youtube Music streaming
- Airplay
- Bluetooth
- playing from local network, NAS
- playing from USB drive

Not only a streamer...

Our Streamer 23 Signature unit is also an amazing R-2R technology Digital to Analog converter. It has additional digital inputs and has been manufactured using the highest quality components, all exclusive to this device.

- Duelund silver foil coupling capacitors
- Amtrans copper foil capacitors in filter stages
- Audio Note Silver Tantalum resistors everywhere
- Audio Note Kaisei and Kemet supply capacitors
- BlackGate capacitors on digital side and in reference supply of the D/A stage
- New old stock USA military opamps in filter stages
- Furutech alpha copper conductor output and power sockets
- Direct silver plating on entire surface of the printed circuit board
- JCS Silver 22 power wiring inside
- Triad Magnetics toroidal transformers

We use almost exclusively linear transient response power supply circuits.

- Separate transformer and supply circuit for the Raspberry PI
- Separate transformer and two circuits for the D/A converter's digital side and two separate circuits for the USB and SPDIF input circuits
- Separate transformer and three circuits for the analog part of the D/A converter and the output filter stages and buffers

- IR remote receiver circuits and lighting source also use separate classic iron core transformers

The 16bit R-2R converter is directly connected to the I2S output of the Raspberry PI, therefore only 4 wires (printed lines) are needed between the computer and the converter, omitting the conversion and the extra electronics in the signal path between them.
There’s a fixed third-order filter at the output of the converter, which cuts off unwanted results of oversampling frequency.
Conversion is done without hardware oversampling, so the converter runs in NOS mode. However, oversampling can still be achieved by using the internal upsampler modules of the operating system. Oversampling could be chosen well up to 192kHz / 16bit quality. Even some sophisticated upsampling filters can be used this way, eg. with HQPlayer.
