(Available from Q1, 2025)
The 16bit R-2R converter is directly connected to the
I2S output of the Raspberry PI, therefore only 4 wires (printed lines) are
needed between the computer and the converter, omitting the conversion and the
extra electronics in the signal path between them.
There’s a fixed third-order filter at the output of the converter, which cuts
off unwanted results of oversampling frequency.
Conversion is done without hardware oversampling, so the converter runs in NOS
mode. However, oversampling can still be achieved by using the internal
upsampler modules of the operating system. Oversampling could be chosen well up
to 192kHz / 16bit quality. Even some sophisticated upsampling filters can be
used this way, eg. with HQPlayer.
